:''Not to be confused with pre-independence era Nee Soon SMC, another defunct ward that located the entire Nee Soon area as well as portion of Ang Mo Kio town in the early days, or Nee Soon Central SMC where the former opposition MP, Cheo Chai Chen made his debut there and narrowly wins the ward on his second attempt in 1991 general elections that locates in the central part of Yishun as well as Nee Soon South SMC where the Singapore Democratic Party had lost narrowly on 1991 general elections where it covers Khatib MRT Station areas along with parts of Yio Chu Kang, only to absorbed into Ang Mo Kio GRC since then until prior to 2011 general elections where the former 3 wards forms the 3 of the 5 sub-divisions on the newly formed Nee Soon GRC (The other 2 wards were craved from the nearby Sembawang GRC.)''
Nee Soon East Single Member Constituency (Traditional Chinese: 義順東單選區; Simplified Chinese: 义顺东单选区) is a defunct Single Member Constituency in the northern area in Singapore. The ward consists of Yishun's Neighbourhoods 2, 3 and 4. The SMC was the largest in the nation with over 32,000 voters. Formed in 2001 after being carved out from Sembawang Group Representation Constituency, its Member of Parliament is People's Action Party's Ho Peng Kee. It had disappeared in 2011 when Nee Soon Central, Nee Soon East, Nee Soon South, Chong Pang and Canberra merged into a newly formed Nee Soon GRC. This SMC and Née Soon Central SMC were formerly under the Sembawang-Née Soon Town Council, which comprises Sembawang GRC (which has six members with this SMC) and Née Soon Central SMC from 2001 until 2011.
